Join A Gathering of Eagles

While I agree with everyone that we have the right to protest and to organize a march, I also believe that as American citizens, we also all have the responsibility to support our country and to support our troops, especially when our country is at war.

In the days of our founding fathers, to do otherwise would have been considered an act of treason. For many of us, it still is just that.

That is why 1,000's and 1,000's of veterans and civilians who support our vets, will also be 'near' the wall on March 17th.

We will be there to protect the wall from those protesters who choose to deface memorials, if any are among those marching on the Pentagon. We will be there also to let the country and the world know, that you do not speak for all of us. You never have and you never will.

Check out A Gathering of Eagles on March 17, 2007.

Perhaps you need to be better informed. I, like many of the people who will be marching on the Pentagon served in the military during the Vietnam War. We revere and respect the Wall and would never do anything to defame or hurt it.

The following is made clear on the web site of the organization that is handling the march:

Tens of thousands of people will be gathering at Constitution Gardens at 12 noon near the Vietnam Memorial prior to the March on the Pentagon on Saturday, March 17. We will not be in the Vietnam Memorial and all speakers for amplified sound are turned away from the Memorial so as not to interfere with family members visiting the site. Constitution Gardens is the same location that ANSWER used for its mass anti-war rally on October 26, 2002. On March 17, 2007 we will leave Constitution Gardens and march on Constitution Ave. and then to Virginia on the way to the Pentagon.

As you can see, you are highly uniformed on what is going on. By the way, the man who wrote the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson, said that, "Dissent is the highest form of patriotism".

If you feel it is your duty to support a president who has lied to the American people time and time again, that is your choice. Perhaps you need to stop watching the FOX news channel and learn the truth. FOX is nothing more than an ad hoc press secretary to the White House and the Republican extreme right wing.

We will be in DC on March 17 for a PEACEFUL march. Hopefully your organization is not seeking a confrontation, because we will not give you one.

First of all, Thank you Robert for serving. Sadly, though, I feel that you are the one who is misinformed.

We are not going to the wall on March 17th, for a confrontation.
We are simply going to let the world know that the so-called 'anti-war-protesters do not speak for us. We are not going there on March 17th, to support the President or any political party, American or otherwise.

We will be there to support the faces behind the names on the wall, and to support our US troops now in harm's way. Protesters defaced the Vietnam memorial in my hometown.

If you choose to support Jihad Jane, the one who called vets 'war criminals' and 'baby killers' during the Vietnam War, perhaps you should stop listening to the stark-raving rants of the kool-aid drinkers.

And root for our side for a change!

Well then, questioning the motives of those who 'dissent' would make me a super-patriot according the Jefferson.
